CinemagraphBy Colton, Rohan, Sebastien, Kevin
1. What was your overall concept and did you succeed in crafting the cinemagraph the way you intended? We wanted to have the shadow move but not the water and we did do that. 2. What do you like about your project? I like how the water is still but the shadow is moving. 3. What would you have done differently when creating your cinemagraph? Maybe I would have wanted some more things to be still in the background. 4. What would have made this project easier to understand or create? It was already pretty easy to follow the tutorial so I don't know. Bringing Action to LifeWhat is your favorite part of this image?
My favorite part was how Rohan is always behind Sebastien, even when he is ahead chronologically which was pretty tedious to do. What was the most difficult part of this process? The most difficult part was probably lining it up, since I had moved the camera slightly when taking the pictures. What was the easiest part of this process? The easiest part was timing the image which I thought would be harder since I am bad at timing things. Photographing WaterWas it easy to get a good shot? Why/why not?
No because the shooting was faster than the flash which caused problems. What did you like/not like about shooting water with the flash? I didn't like how the continuous shooting ended up not helping at all because of the flash problem. Was it easy to get a good shot? Why/why not? Yes because it was simple and we just had to time it. What did you like/not like about shooting water with reflection? I liked that it was one of the simpler shots to get. Was it easy to get a good shot? Why/why not? No because the oddly shaped bowl covered the drop. What did you like/not like about shooting colored water with the flash? I don't like how the bowl covered a good amount of the drop area. Was it easy to get a good shot? Why/why not? Yes because it was simple again and we just had to time it. What creative adjustments did your team make for this shot? We took pictures from the side rather than from the top. ShorebreakWhat did Clark do before photography?
He was working at a botanical garden. What do you like about his work? I like how he gets inside the wave to show it. What do you not like about his work? I feel like it gets a little repetitive after a while. What brand of camera does he use and how does he take it into the water? Nikon D Series and he uses a case thing to keep it safe. Is this a career that you would consider, why/why not? No, probably not. I don't have much experience with surfing and oceans. Action PhotosI like the movement in the photo. I would have waited a bit more to have more height in the jump. I like the action in this shot. I would have taken the shot sooner when I was higher up. I just think this shot is funny. I would have wanted to wait a bit more to get closer to the ground maybe.
